Online and in person Labs with skills Course (10 days)

Online learning at your individual pace, up to 6 months with an interactive program that has many different modules to meet your learning style. EMS professionals are available to answer/educate each student over the phone, email, and with the In person Lab sessions.

We are here to give you the best educational EMS experience with the course, clinical and labs.  To become an assest in the EMS work force, be prepared for employment on an Ambulance, the Emergency Department, Medical Event Coverage or with a Transportation Service.

The ONLINE part of the course MUST be completed prior to starting the Lab with Skills class.

LAB with SKILLS SPECIFICS:

  • Monday through Friday 0900-5:00 PM Lab/Skill sessions.  Exam dates are on Friday or some Saturdays with special permissions.
  • The 10 days must be completed within this program.  You can not take the Instructor Lead dates and exchange  with the Lab/Skill dates.  The Syllabus is completed at a different pace.
  • AHA Basic Life Support CPR (BLS) is included in Lab/skills, no extra fee.
  • ALL ONLINE WORK MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO SIGNING UP FOR THE LAB/SKILLS DATES.  IF YOU ARE SIGNED UP AND WE FIND YOUR ONLINE IS NOT COMPLETE,  YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LAB/SKILLS SESSION UNTIL WORK IS COMPLETED.
  • Minimum age of 16 years old to begin this program is recommended.

May 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th- Written and Psychomotor EXAM

June 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th- Written and Psychomotor EXAM

July 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th- Written and Psychomotor EXAM

August 1st, 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 14th-Written and Psychomotor EXAM

August 15th, 16th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th-Written and Psychomotor EXAM

September 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th-Written and Psychomotor EXAM

The EMT Hybrid course is based on Minnesota & National EMS Education Standards that will govern the way that you learn and practice EMS. Additionally, this course meets the current American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and ECC. emergency medical training center

EMT Hybrid Online Labs with Skills in 10 days:

  1. AHA Basic Life Support CPR (BLS)
  2. Background check
  3. Clinical (10+) Patient contacts in a variety of EMS locations.  (NOT SCENARIOS but LIVE PATIENTS). Ambulance North Metro/Rural, Clinics, Emergency Departments, Event coverage around the Twin Cites, and Transportation services.  We have contracts with EMS companies so students can have the MOST effective learning with their newly acquired skills in REAL LIFE EMS EMERGENCIES.
  4. Lab classroom with skills  72+ hours with EMS educators with years of EMS experience; Guest speakers.
  5. Online access for 2 years and/or a download.  100+ hours Online program with Audio, eText, Multimedia w Videos and 3D images, Quizzes/Tests, Flashcards.  You can access this program from Blackboard Learn, Bright space by D2L, Canvas, or Moodle. Full access for 2 years and/or a download.
  6. Access to Educational videos for additional learning.
  7. Psychomotor Skills exam with a FREE 2nd Re-test.
  8. SAVE A LIFE includes a POLO Uniform shift /Badge to be worn in class and at the students Clinical.
  9. Vitals supplies are to be used in Lab sessions, and  with at the students Clinical Patient contacts.  

Bring to class day 1:

  1. A Laptop
  2. Attire (Dress in a professional manner, EMS Professional attire with each Lab with Skills is required).
  3. SAL shirt.  (Information provided in Email from SAL office after registering)
  4. Supplies. (Information provided in Email from SAL office after registering)
  5. If you are current, with your AHA BLS CPR, then you will not need to complete the CPR in our course.  Please provide your card for verification.
  6. A syllabus will be provided after registration to the course.

A kitchen is on-site and restaurants are in the area.
